ThinkSpatial has extensive experience in providing survey support for LiDAR/ALS operations throughout Australia. Over the past eight years, we have operated basestations and captured ground-truthing data for some of the largest LiDAR acquisition projects in Australia, including the Future Coasts, Corangamite CMA, Wimmera CMA, Wimmera Mallee-Pipeline, and Broken Hill Aquifer projects. Our quality assurance procedures, in-house basestation technologies, and intimate understanding of LiDAR ground operations ensure our clients can rest easy in the knowledge that their ground operations are in excellent hands.

Engineering Surveys

ThinkSpatial conducts all manner of feature and detail surveys for engineering and design purposes. Be it for school redevelopments, pipelines, channels, roads, floodplains, wind farms, mines, or art galleries, ThinkSpatial utilises GPS/GNSS and robotic technologies to deliver detailed, accurate, and complete survey information tailored to our clients' needs. We also provide our clients with a range of value-added products that are generated from the collected survey data, such as photographic hotspots, cross sections, longitudinal sections, 3D models, and attribute (GIS) information.

Monitoring

ThinkSpatial utilises Robotic Total Stations and RTK GNSS to monitor deformation of slopes and batters and can provide accurate monitoring over time. Monitoring points are strategically placed across a slope either flush with ground level or buried beneath the surface. These points are measured with either Total Station or GNSS equipment, depending on location and accuracies required, and processed using Trimble Geomatics Office (TGO). All raw observations are stored and can be processed separately to ensure accuracy of all measurements. Using TGO, coordinates are exported to a spreadsheet, and are compared directly to previous measurements and residuals calculated for each point.

For higher precision surveys, rigorous adjustment of the network is performed to ensure the greatest precisions are achieved.

Bernese Processing

ThinkSpatial is the only commercial enterprise in Australia with the knowledge and technical skills required to efficiently use the Bernese Software – a scientific GNSS processing package used throughout the world to deliver the most accurate and precise GNSS positions and velocities.
